Easter Grade 4 tennis tournament at Chapel A

16th Apr 2015

During the first week of the Easter holidays we hosted the Chapel Allerton Easter Grade 4 2015. With 120 entries and the perfect week’s weather forecast we were to witness some excellent tennis and a brilliant advert for the club and tennis on the whole.

Competitors travelled far and wide to take part in the competition from under 8’s to a surprisingly well subscribed men’s open age draw.

There were hard fought matches in every age group and a mercifully small number of on court antics!!!!

Amongst the winners were three Chapel Allerton members. In the boys u9 event Anish Johar was victorious, in the u16’s boy’s event, Ben Harris won convincingly, taking the final 6-1, 6-1.

Both of these players attend coaching on the junior programme at Chapel Allerton.

In the men’s event the top seed Matthew Tottey won in a close fought final taking victory in a third set match tiebreak 10-3.

All in all it was a brilliant week of tennis at the club and all eyes are now on the next Grade 4 event in the summer. To enter this please keep an eye on the LTA web page.
