A high intensity class putting your cardiovascular fitness and full body strength and conditioning to the test. The class comprises of groups of Fun but challenging exercises incorporating shuttle runs – sprints – battle rope – slam balls to name but a few. The Class layout is Circuit form with boxing moves and boxing bags, available to all levels. Boxing training or boxerfit is becoming recognized as a great way to increase fitness and control weight. Many boxing workouts use a combination of various exercises from skipping, shadow boxing to circuit training, all of which work together to burn tons of calories. The combination of all these different exercises helps keep the heart rate elevated over the whole workout developing strength and endurance for the heart and circulatory system. As a result, your posture will change and you will move more efficiently. You’ll achieve a strong core, develop longer, leaner muscles and improve your overall sense of well-being. Boxercise is an exercise class based on the training concepts boxers use to keep fit. Classes can take a variety of formats but a typical one may involve shadow-boxing, skipping, hitting pads, kicking punchbags, press-ups, shuttle-runs and sit-ups. This class is taken by Carl Cleasby (photo above) and takes place on Tuesday at 10am. This is conditioning and functional circuit training, working muscular flexibility and the aerobic system, working with kettlebells, TRX, Viper and functional movements.
