Chapel A wins ‘Green Club of the Year’

24th Nov 2014

Chapel A picked up the ‘Green Club of the Year’ award at the Club Awards event held on Thursday 20th November at the Palace Hotel in Manchester.

The Club Awards sponsored by the Club Mirror magazine provide a showcase for all clubs;  from sports and social clubs, to working men’s clubs and company clubs, to celebrate their achievements. After recent success as Tennis Club of the Year in 2012 and 2013, Chapel A picked up this new award in recognition of the work done to reduce energy use at the club and to significantly reduce its carbon footprint.

Members of the committee came out in force to collect the award, pictured here is David King (from the Energy Desk), Christian Kaiser (Tennis Chairman), Mike Butterworth (Treasurer), Cath Blakeman (Club Manager), Paula Arrowsmith (Secretary), Juliana Caines (Chairman) and John Inverdale, the guest speaker for the evening.
